At My Ashburn Dentist, we’re proud to serve a variety of clients across Virginia, including the diplomatic community. As Ashburn’s Top Rated Local® family and general dentistry, we’re pleased to announce that we have been endorsed by Romania’s ambassador to the United States, George-Cristian Maior.
Mr. Maior is a well known Romanian politician and diplomat and was a member of the Romanian Parliament, elected as a senator for the Social Democrat Party. Since September, 2015, he has played a critical role as an ambassador of Romania to the United States, and we’re proud to have him as a dental client at our Ashburn dental facility.
Maior was born in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, on November 16, 1976. His father, Liviv Maior, served as a minister of education, as well as the ambassador to Canada, from 1992 to 1996. In 1991, George-Cristian Maior earned a law degree from Babes Bolyai University before continuing his degree at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. There, he earned an LL.M. in international and comparative law.
Between 1992 and 1997, Maior served as a diplomat in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs under the Department of Treaties and Department of Strategic Affairs. From 1997 to 1999, he was promoted to Chargé D’affaires at the Romanian Embassy in Dublin, Ireland, until he was conferred the rank of Ambassador in 2004. He gave up his seat in the Romanian Senate in 2006 to head the Romanian Intelligence Service.
